The RVCSU organises a host of regular events each year. Here is a bit of history on the old favourites.
The year kicks off with a fortnight of fun for the new freshers. We have a massive line-up of events including a meet and greet, river-boat cruise and themed club-nights. Freshers culminates with the legendary 'Beer Drinking' at the Kentish Town Forum (You don't have to drink beer, there is also the choice of Vodka, Gin, Rum or OJ!)
During Freshers Fortnight you'll get the chance to meet students across the different year groups and courses and you'll get your first taste of what the London night life is like.
Fresher's Fortnight 2011 runs from ???-???.
The RVCSU host an annual Christmas ball which is held just outside St.Albans, Hertfordshire. Each year has a different theme and includes a sit down dinner, entertainments, drinks deals, dancing, dodgems and much more. It's always great fun!
The halfway dinner is organised by the BVetMed Yr 3 students to celebrate this milestone in the course. The meal part of the evening is only open to BVetMed Yr 3 students but the after party is for all students.
There are awards given out to students, following student nominations and voting, a 3 course meal, free wine and half price cocktails.
RAG WeekRaise & Give week consists of a week of events to raise money for charity and they are always innovative and exciting. The RAG Committee are the masters of ceremonies and a new committee sits each year. RAG Week is always a laugh and you can proudly party knowing you're doing your bit for others!
The May Ball is hosted in a marquee on the Hawkshead campus, in front of the Eclipse building. In 2011 it was a great success with a buffet-style dinner and there was dancing, drinking into the wee hours!
Sports ball is a celebration for all the fabulous sports teams that we have at the RVC. Team members receive awards and colours in recognition for contributions to their sports team.
